Best Way to Trim Chest Hair for A Well Groomed Look

Ahh chest hair.  The hair that proves you’ve broken into adulthood.  The mane that shows everyone you’re a lion that cannot be tamed.  The lush man forest that…  Okay lets be honest, for a lot of people it gets to a point where it’s not that great.  There are moments in life when chest hair is okay to flaunt and some when it isn’t.

Some might have the kind of chest hair that looks pretty good and they don’t mind having it or showing it off on the beach.  Others might have the kind that makes them look more animal than human and are in search of a well-needed trim.

Well, you’re in luck because this article is for you.  I’ve personally trimmed my own chest hair in multiple ways and I’m happy to give you my take on how to do it so you can stay groomed and feel good.

What is the best way to trim chest hair?

Use a hair trimmer

One of the most popular ways of getting rid of chest hair and also the way I would recommend, is using an electric hair trimmer or clipper.

These are great for grooming your chest hair.  You can use them without a guard if you want to trim virtually all of your hair, or you can use one of the many guard lengths that are typically included with any hair trimmer to get the length you’re looking for.

If you’re not sure how much you want to get rid of, I’d recommend starting with a higher guard and seeing how it looks.  Work your way down the guards until you’ve reached your desired hair length.

Why use a hair trimmer over other methods?

First of all, it’s very simple to do.  Anyone can throw a guard on and start buzzing.

Secondly, being able to cut at different lengths lets you achieve a nice groomed look while still leaving a little hair to show that you have that chest hair swagger.

Perhaps the best thing about owning a hair trimmer though, is that you can use it for so many other grooming needs.  It is without a doubt a hairy guys best friend.

Best way to shave your chest

Use a Razor

This method is best if you have a little bit of chest hair that you just want to get rid of completely or if you have used a hair trimmer and want to get your chest as smooth as possible.  If you have a lot of hair, I definitely would not recommend using a razor as your first step.  Trim it to a short length first and then use a razor.

How do you do this?  Just like you’d shave your face.  Apply some shaving cream to an area you want to shave and keep in mind the direction of the hairs to make sure you get a smooth even shave.

Hair removal creams

These can be used to completely remove hair from anywhere on the body.  Although I wouldn’t recommend using creams to remove hair over using a hair trimmer or razor, they are easy to apply and can remove large amounts of hair quickly.

Keep in mind the instructions for using hair removal creams and follow them precisely.  Typically the cream is applied to the area that you want to remove hair from, and over the course of a few minutes the cream will essentially burn your hair off.

Remember the word burn.  If you leave these creams on your skin for too long, it will become extremely irritated and cause a redness or burn, so be very careful.  This is why I don’t recommend this over other options.  Again,  if you are going to use a cream then pay attention to the instructions and you should be fine.

Enjoy your groomed chest!

Never take your chest hair for granted.  Some men would give a great sacrifice to be able to grow a full chest of hair.  If you have it, keep it groomed with these tips and be proud of it.  Hopefully this has given you some insight on how to trim your chest hair with a little more confidence.  Experiment and find what works best for you!
